At one point in time, personal fitness and wellness trainers were reserved for the famous and wealthy.  Having a personal trainer was a status symbol of an individuals success and luxury, such as owning a luxury sports car; however, with today’s rising concern and awareness for health and wellness, more and more Americans are seeking the expertise and guidance of personal fitness and wellness trainers.

With so much information with regards to personal health and wellness it can seem to be a daunting task to decipher it all on your own.  The “fitness equation” can seem quite complex with there existing so many variables such as rest and recovery, nutrition and supplementation, exercise prescription, attainable successive goal setting, medical risk factors analysis, anatomy, chemistry, biomechanics, intensity and volume, muscle confusion, and so on.  No wonder people are trying so desperately to find someone to help them understand it all.

A personal fitness and wellness trainer can help an individual understand the “fitness equation” but that is only one of the many rolls he/she plays.  Beyond this deciphering of information, a personal fitness and wellness trainer can help an individual become more consistent with their exercise routine, which is key to success, through accountability and motivation.  A personal fitness and wellness trainer also helps people maximize their time, effectiveness and efficiency by understanding every clients needs, goals, limitations, frustrations, personality, and personal motivations for being fit.

A good personal fitness and wellness trainer is a scientist, psychologist, physicists, life coach, teacher, motivational speaker and ally, all wrapped into one, with a deep passion and desire to help change peoples’ lives.  It takes a special person to be able to play the role of a personal fitness and wellness trainer well, but there are many out there waiting for the opportunity to help change your life for the better.

The best way to find a personal fitness and wellness trainer is to get a referral from a friend who has had success in reaching their goals.  If you are a member of a fitness facility, watch trainers with their clients and see how they interact.  Look for how the trainer and their client interact.  If you like their style and notice their clients achieving results, they may be a good choice for you.

Do not let the misconception that personal fitness and wellness trainers are unattainable or to expensive.  Many offer significant group discounts, fitness camps and ½ hour sessions to allow their services to be more economically feasible for the cost-conscious consumer.  Personal fitness and wellness trainers are no longer only reserved for the famous and wealthy.  You can have one all to yourself, guiding you to a better way of life.
